Witness the incredible complicity between Jaap ter Linden and his ex-student Kate Haynes, who is now a regular cellist for Arion. Kate Bennett Haynes, cellist

Kate Bennett Haynes is a cellist devoted to historical performance of all periods. With baroque ensembles such Arion, Tafelmusik, B’Rock and Aradia. She has also appeared at festivals throughout North America and Europe and recorded for the Naxos, ATMA, Artemis/Vanguard, and early-music.com labels.

Kate studied modern cello with Laurence Lesser at the New England Conservatory and baroque cello with Jaap ter Linden at the Royal Dutch Conservatory in the Hague, after completing a bachelor’s degree in Scandinavian studies at Harvard College. She is currently pursuing a DMus in 19th-century performance practice at McGill University in Montreal.
