Not only will we hear the soloist play with this concert’s guest conductor, he will also be playing along side oboist Matthew Jennejohn and bassoonist Anna Marsh in the delicious yet rarely heard Sinfonia concertante by Haydn.
“It was a very natural decision to ask Jaap ter Linden to conduct the program since he has a great affinity for Mozart – repertoire which he had the chance to thoroughly work on while he conducted a recording of the integral collection of Mozart symphonies.
The “Jupiter” symphony was an obvious choice and seemed ideal to conclude Arion’s 30th season because of its beauty and splendour”, declared Claire Guimond, artistic director of the orchestra.
The concert will be taking place on the 12th and 13th of May at 8PM and on the 15th of May at 2PM at Redpath Hall. We warmly invite you to read the program notes for the concert!
