Montréal, le 12 mars 2013 –La directrice artistique Claire Guimond d’Arion Orchestre Baroque a dévoilé aujourd’hui la 33e saison de l’orchestre. Cette nouvelle saison fêtera la troisième année consécutive de la Série Montréalaise à la Salle Bourgie du Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal et y célébrera la musique et les interprètes italiens.

Montréal,le 13 février 2013 – Pour souligner l’éclat de la réputation de Vivaldi, Arion Orchestre Baroque présente le concert Vivaldi à Dresde les 8, 9, 10 mars à la Salle Bourgie du Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. Sous la direction du bassoniste montréalais Mathieu Lussier, l’Orchestre peindra l’influence de l’auteur des Quatre Saisons sur la ville allemande de Dresde, capitale culturelle au 18e siècle, et sur ses compositeurs Pisendel, Fasch, Heinichen et Graun.
Montréal, le 10 janvier 2013 – Arion Orchestre Baroque présente le concert De la mélancolie à l’allégresse les 8, 9, 10 février à la Salle Bourgie du Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal, dirigé par le violoncelliste Jaap ter Linden et auxquels se joint la soprano Johannette Zomer, deux brillants artistes des Pays-Bas. Lors du programme, Vivaldi, Boccherini et Locatelli, avec leur lyrisme flamboyant, vous feront connaître les grandes passions qui agitent l’âme italienne. Ils vous feront passer avec exaltation par toute la gamme des émotions… de la mélancolie à l’allégresse.
Montreal, August 20th, 2012 – It is with great enthusiasm that Arion Baroque Orchestra presents the program for its 32nd season, combining musical discoveries with classics of the baroque repertoire. Settling in to the magnificent Bourgie Concert Hall for the second year in a row, the Orchestra will take its audience on a musical journey that promises to be both exciting and illuminating, thanks to the passion exhibited by Arion’s musicians, and the freshness and creativity of its guest conductors and soloists.

Montreal, Tuesday, March 27, 2012 – Arion will close its season by paying homage to Handel’s beloved diva: Anna Maria Strada, pairing a dramatic style with a smoothness of expression. The wonderful Karina Gauvin will bring all of these qualities to life through dazzling arias and spectacular vocal effects. Arion will be led by the inspired and imaginative Alexander Weimann. Presented by Société Générale, key sponsor in the musical world, the concerts will take place on April 27 and 28 at 8 p.m. and on April 29 at 2 p.m. at the Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Montreal, Friday, February 10, 2012 – This program will transport you to the heart of Leipzig, to Zimmermann’s Coffee-House, a favourite of Bach and Telemann’s. The Orchestra will offer inspiring music filled with serenity and spirit through a selection of concertos by these two masters, under the direction of guest conductor and internationally acclaimed violinist, Rachel Podger. The concerts will take place on March 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and on March 18 at 2 p.m. at the Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Montreal, January 30, 2012 – Due to health reasons, guest violinist and conductor Elizabeth Wallfish must unfortunately withdraw from her engagement with the Arion Baroque Orchestra in the forthcoming concert of its 2011-2012 Montreal Season, Commedia dell’arte. She will be replaced by guest violinist Dmitry Sinkovsky and Jaap ter Linden, guest cellist and conductor.

Montreal, Friday, January 5, 2012 – With her usual panache, violinist Elizabeth Wallfisch is back to fire up the stars of the Arion Baroque Orchestra for whom, as for the protagonists of the Commedia Dell’Arte, there will be no holds barred. Almost all of musical Europe has come together to tread the same boards in order to entertain you with an array of pleasures to amuse the heart and the mind! The concerts will take place on February 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. and on February 19 at 2 p.m. at the Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. These concerts are a presentation of the 2012 Montreal High Lights Festival.

Montreal, November 3, 2011 – Arion Baroque Orchestra will bring the 2011 Montreal Bach Festival to a wonderful close with the presentation of a concert entitled BACH – Desires of the Soul in the Bourgie Concert Hall at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. For Johann Sebastian Bach, the soul longs above all for eternity in the presence of the Beloved. His music can touch the heart in a single harmony, as will be heard in Cantatas BWV 54 and 170, the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 BWV 1048, the Oboe Concerto adapted from BWV 1056, and the Suite in B minor for flute, strings, and basso continuo BWV 1067, performed at this moving concert.
