Arion Baroque Orchestra has created a foundation whose role is to ensure the orchestra’s future. The interest earned on the contributions taken in will be used chiefly for these three aims:
1. Supporting future musicians through
a. educational activities (master classes, contact with musicians, etc.)
b. fostering such activities as musician in residence, participation in rehearsals, concert performance.
2. Developing national and international outreach by
a. support for tours
b. promoting recordings outside
c. participating in shows and specialized markets.
3. Realizing special projects such as
a. those aimed at audience development and renewal
b. programmes of unperformed pieces or works from archives
c. off-season productions for specific events
d. participating in co-productions for large-scale events (operas, concert cycles, etc.).
These three poles of activity will consolidate the further development of Arion Baroque Orchestra by ensuring it a supply of future musicians trained to the orchestra’s high artistic standards, by permitting it to considerably broaden its outreach, and by assuring it a dynamic role in the artistic and cultural scene in Québec and Canada.
All these activities together will have quite an impact on its audience development and maintaining its position at the forefront of the country’s baroque music scene.
