Recognized for her “expressive virtuosity” [San Francisco Chronicle] and “memorable, raw-silk voice” [Toronto Star], American mezzo soprano Meg Bragle is garnering praise for her “dynamic and eloquent” performances in repertoire ranging from Bach to Copland. In Europe and North America she has appeared with John Eliot Gardiner’s English Baroque Soloists and Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Dunedin Consort, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Apollo’s Fire, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s among others.
Ms. Bragle’s opera appearances have included the roles of Dido and the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Amastre in Handel’s Serse, Dardano in Handel’s Amadigi, Mitrena in Vivaldi’s Motezuma, Speranza in Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Ippolita in Cavalli’s Elena, and Elpina in Vivaldi’s La Fida Ninfa. She has recorded for the Koch, Avie, Musica Omnia, Eclectra, Ex Cathedra, and Cantaloupe labels.
