Concert 1 : A Mix of Musical Tastes – “Gemischter Goût”

Guest conductor : Luca Guglielmi, clavecin

For the first time with Arion, the “superlative” conductor and harpsichordist Luca Guglielmi, long-time collaborator of Jordi Savall, will present works highlighting the mixing of national styles. Tapping into the rich musical traditions of Europe, many great composers from the baroque period sought to reconcile their differences without waiving their own nature, favouring in some measure harmony between peoples. The Italian and French styles were the foremost of those combined to their own by the Germans, Telemann even choosing a multilingual expression to describe the approach: gemischter Goût – mixed taste.
