Born in Buenos Aires, where he began his vocal studies, he pursued them in Switzerland at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and at the Musikhochschule in Lucerne. He was awarded the Edwin Fischer Prize in 2006. He has sung under the direction of William Christie, Laurence Cummings, Václav Luks, Francesco Corti, Tōnu Kaljuste, Rubén Dubrovsky, Andreas Reize, Jordi Savall, Paul Agnew, Skip Sempé, Vincent Dumestre and Geoffroy Jourdain, among others.
He has performed with numerous ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants, Collegium 1704, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Les Talens Lyriques, Le Poème Harmonique, La Tempête, Ensemble Inégal, La Risonanza, a nocte temporis. He collaborates with lutenist Mónica Pustilnik and with pianist and composer Paul Suits.
Recent stage productions include La Cenerentola, Arsilda, Monteverdi's trilogy, Alcione, Phaëton, L'Europe galante, and Les Fées du Rhin. His recordings include Handel's Siroe, Lully's Phaëton and Cadmus et Hermione, Handel's Music for Queen Caroline, Pasquini's L'ombra di Solimano (bass cantatas), Monteverdi's Madrigals, Vespro, and L'incoronazione di Poppea.
He researches and publishes on the history of singing and of vocal techniques. In addition, he has developed an intense teaching activity through masterclasses with William Christie in Thiré, with the Balthasar Neumann Academy in Fontainebleau and La Habana, in conservatories in France and Germany, and at the Monteverdi Madrigal Week in Venice. He makes his debut at the Opéra de Paris in 2024, in Charpentier's Médée, with William Christie. Since 2019, he teaches at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
